Glengoyne is the Scotch of choice at this year’s 89th Academy Awards after it was selected as a ‘gift from Glasgow’ for each of the 14 stars presenting each of the world-renowned awards.

The star-studded line-up of presenters, which include Hollywood royalty; Leonardo DiCaprio, Halle Berry and Scarlett Johansson, will each receive a bottle of Glengoyne 10 Year Old so they can raise a toast to the awards before presenting the winners with their coveted golden statue.

The Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will honour the best films of 2016 and will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (26th February).

Neil Boyd, Commercial Director of Malts at Ian Macleod Distillers, the company that own Glengoyne Distillery, said: “Having been approached by the team at the Oscars, we couldn’t be more thrilled that our Glengoyne 10 Year Old will be making its red carpet debut. Being Glasgow’s local distillery, it’s a privilege that our whisky will play its part in representing, not only the city, but Scotland at the awards. We hope all the presenters appreciated the sweet, complex flavours of Glengoyne!”
