Rare bottles including a Macallan Select Reserve 1964 valued at up to £14,000 are set to go under the hammer at a charity auction in aid of Doddie's motor neurone disease foundation, My Name'5 Doddie.
The former Scotland lock helped to fill the very first cask of the peated single malt in 2014. Three years later, he broached the cask and 99 bottles were filled from it to mark the 99 years since Annandale Distillery had last produced whisky.
It was announced in 2017 that Doddie had been diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND). He set up his charity to raise funds to combat the disease, aid research and provide support for sufferers.
A Macallan Select Reserve 52-year-old 1946 worth between £12,000 and £14,000 is another rare bottle of whisky set to go on sale at Wednesday's auction.
Bottled in May 1998, the whisky was uniquely produced with malt dried in peat-fired kins instead of coal, resulting in a distinct and complex taste and aroma.
