Del Amitri release limited edition whisky in collaboration with The Glasgow Distillery Co

Scottish rock group Del Amitri have revealed a new limited edition single malt whisky bottling in collaboration with Caskade Drinks, The Glasgow Distillery Co. and local artist Nänni-pää.

The Del Amitri whisky is latest release from Caskade Drinks' artist series, and is inspired by the creative and cultural diversity of Del Amitri’s home city of Glasgow while paying homage to the band’s legacy.

Distilled at the award-winning Glasgow Distillery, the whisky has been drawn from two ex-ruby port casks and handpicked for its unique character and refreshing flavour profile.

Bottled at 54.2% ABV and limited to just 522 bottles, this vibrant liquid has notes of berries  and, the team say, is the perfect accompaniment to the band’s rich and melodic body of work.

In addition, the bottle is adorned with beautifully-animated illustrations from popular Glasgow artist Nänni-päa with each drawing on the label a nod to a lyric or song from the band's back catalogue.

To celebrate the release of Del Amitri Whisky, the band will be performing a special hometown live show at Glasgow Tramway on Sat 30 November.

Del Amitri said: "After a year of tasting whiskies and sharing ideas with Caskade Drinks and artist Nänni-pää, we are excited to share our first whisky.

“The casks we secured from The Glasgow Distillery exceeded all our expectations and we are looking forward to ringing in 2025 with a glass of this."

Gareth Croll of Caskade Drinks added: "This new release in our Artist Series pays true homage to the bold, creative spirit of our hometown and also to the wider innovation happening in the whisky world today too.

“The whole creative process here with Del Amitri, Glasgow Distillery and Daisy (Nänni-pää) has been really unique and we are delighted to have brought it together!

“This whisky speaks volumes and I think we are going to have a lot of new single malt whisky lovers as a result."
