The team behind the Tequila Festival have confirmed that the event will take place at the Barrowland Ballroom in October.
As part of a national tour, the festival will travel to 16 major cities around the UK, starting in London on 19th August.
On the Saturday the 21st of October, the event will run from 1pm until 11pm, with attendees able to embark on a Tequila tasting journey with over 30 Tequilas to try out.
On arrival each guest will be handed a complimentary shot, and a Tequila Bible to guide them through their tasting experience.
The organisers have also promised a huge array of live entertainment including traditional Mexican dancers and a Mariarchi band.
DJs will complete the soundtrack to the day, playing a range of tunes with a Latin twist throughout.
There will also be a range of spectacular performers to entertain the crowds, alongside colourful pinatas and processions.
The team behind the event say guests can also visit the Tequila cocktail bar, as well as enjoy specialist Mexican food stalls.
The Festival is described as a "celebration of the history, culture, and variety of tastes of this much-loved drink".
The event comes on the back of a wave of enthusiasm for specialist spirits, with the The Wine and Spirit Trade Association recently reporting that UK sales of Tequila have surged over the last two years, particularly of premium brands, rising by 37 per cent to £173million in 2016.
It’s become so popular that some of the biggest names in entertainment have their own Tequila brands, such as Justin Timberlake’s ‘Sauza 901’, George Clooney’s ‘Casamigos’ - which was recently sold to Diageo - and Sean “Diddy” Combs ‘DeLeon’.
The festival has also been confirmed for Edinburgh though a date and venue have yet to be confirmed.
The Tequila Festival organiser, Nathan Reed said: “Tequila is a drink that is associated with a great party all across the world, however, it is also now being recognised as a more sophisticated, crafted drink with a rich variety of flavours.
"Tequila has a very strong cultural identity, so we wanted to bring this to life and put on a festival that celebrates the remarkable diversity and history of this wonderful drink.
"The Tequila Festival will be an unmissable party, full of music and entertainment, and of course, a chance to taste the best Tequilas under the sun.”
