The latest Brewdog bar will open in the heart of Old Dickensian London, in what has now become the design district of the city; Clerkenwell. With 18 beer taps, growlers to take away, a healthy selection of guest brews from the likes of experimental Danish brew house Mikkeller, London’s The Kernel and U.S. outfits Oskar Blues Brewery and Stone Brewing Co, the new space will be packed to the rafters with an eclectic mix of flavours for passionate beer buffs to explore.

BrewDog Clerkenwell will be based on historic 45-47 Clerkenwell Road, an area previously teeming with breweries and distilleries. With doors opening at noon on Friday 11th December, the cutting-edge bar will serve an epic range of craft beer snacks including hop-salt fries, alongside dishes such as BrewDog’s famed hot dogs, all ready for pairing with the vast draft and bottle selection that BrewDog bars are now renowned for.

The second Aberdeen site, in Castlegate, will open at the same time and date, located 500 miles away at 5-9 Union Street. The launch, which marks the second BrewDog venue in Aberdeen city-centre, will bring Scotland’s tally of BrewDog sites up to nine – cementing Scotland as an epicentre for all things craft.

BrewDog Castlegate will play host to 16 beer taps, and 250 bottles in the on-site BottleDog – offering ever-thirsty beer geeks an unrivalled range of takeaway brews from a mixture of international, locally-sourced, and small-batch offerings. With a valiant food menu perfect for pairing with beer, including chicken wings, Bavarian salted preztels, patty melts and hot dogs, BrewDog Castlegate will also serve artisanal coffee during the day, fuelling any last minute Christmas runs.

BrewDog Castlegate is also joined on Union Street by a brand new, subterranean craft beer hub, UnderDog. Based at the former SNAFU, UnderDog will offer up the best eclectic mixes, live music and events, paired with a draft board to change the tide for UK club nights.

BrewDog co-founder, James Watt said:“We’ve had a stratospherically awesome year, smashing records throughout 2015, and inspiring craft beer revolutions in all corners of the globe. We wanted to end the year with a bang, and what better way than opening a ninth venue in our home country, and another in London, notching up seven venues in the capital. Our loyal beer punks are constantly on the look out for our next opening and eight years into this adventure, we’re still doing everything possible to reward this continued allegiance.”

BrewDog’s success in the craft beer scene has resulted in the opening of 41 bars worldwide since its first venue launched in Aberdeen in 2010, and the conversion of thousands to craft beer. BrewDog’s popularity is in part down to its game-changing crowdfunding scheme, Equity for Punks, the fourth round of which opened in April this year.

James Watt continued: “Our 35,000-strong army of equity punks has propelled us forwards this year, enabling us to keep opening bars in exciting places, bringing craft beer to the people, and expanding into the US (with our new brewery in Ohio). When we first turned the business model on its head with the launch of Equity For Punks, we did it with the aim of shortening the distance between the people who make our beer and the people who drink it. We’re now in our fourth round of crowdfunding, and we’re cresting an unstoppable wave of craft beer fever sweeping the universe – long live craft!”
