Set to open for the first time in spring this year, the five-star hotel is holding open days at the castle on 6th February and 5th March to support its drive to recruit a variety of positions, from junior roles to senior management.

Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI) is keen to fill as many positions as possible with local talent, creating 30 new jobs in roles which include duty manager, sommelier and housekeeping positions.

Local businessman Steve Timoney and his wife Alison Reid-Timoney purchased the 14th Century castle in 2011, rescuing it from ruin a year after it was listed on Scotland’s Buildings At Risk Register.

Over the last five years the couple have returned the property to its former glory, investing over £9 million into its restoration including the addition of a grand ballroom to the castle, which can accommodate up to 250 event guests. An exciting new restaurant venture from renowned chef Albert Roux, OBE, KFO is planned for the property.

The hotel is being managed on behalf of the Timoneys by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI). Norbert Lieder, ICMI’s managing director, said: “Crossbasket Castle is one of the area’s most beautiful historic homes and will be one of Scotland’s leading luxury hotels and restaurant in the area. Currently there is nothing like this so close to the city of Glasgow.

“We are seeking skilled and enthusiastic staff to join our award-winning team and are keen to recruit locally where possible. There is much anticipation for the opening of Crossbasket, particularly amongst the local community who have watched the beautiful building become masterfully restored over the past five years.

“This is a great career opportunity for those who are successful. And, of course, working for ICMI and the Rouxs offers a long-term prospect of travel and personal growth.”

The hotel will boast a restaurant offering locally sourced produce, nine unique bedrooms, drawing room, dining room, library and grand ballroom all furnished with antique 14th, 15th and 16th century pieces handpicked and designed by Alison Reid-Timoney.

Those interested in applying should bring their CV to Crossbasket Castle to discuss the recruitment opportunities available and meet the ICMI team on 6th February and 5th March at 11am – 4pm.
