Most teenagers don't like breakfasts much. But they do like emojis.
Has Heather Adamson, from West Kilbride, cracked the formula for getting them fed in the morning? Even if they're not bothered, the food blogger's eyecatching dishes are a major hit on her Instagram page, @fresheather – she has more than 115,000 followers.
The Scot's picturesque breakfasts are not only great to look at, but they're also healthy. Her photogenic oat-based dishes are topped with all kinds of colourful fruit – bananas, coconuts, strawberries, raisins and plenty else.
Some of her most memorable dishes depict emojis with clear, bright colours: hatched chicks, blossoms, monkeys and smileys. Her @fresheather account isn't just for the mornings – Adamson has a sweet tooth as well, though even, unbelievably, this is healthy too.
Speaking to the Scotsman Food & Drink, she said: "I began my account by just posting pictures of the meals I ate. But over the last few years, I've been developing my food photography and my graphic design degree also came in handy. I'm now able to share video recipes and photos to show people how to recreate my recipes and creations."
