Cocktails in the City, the UK’s greatest cocktail event, is coming back to Edinburgh at the end of October.

What is Edinburgh’s Cocktails in the City event?

Edinburgh’s Cocktails in the City is back this year following a sell out event in 2014.

An evening of cocktail making and drinks entertainment, the festival brings together sixteen handpicked bars from across the city to create amazing cocktail concoctions under one roof. Visitors experience the capital city’s diverse and vibrant bar scene through one-to-one cocktail tuition by the finest bartenders, live cocktail demonstrations on the main stage and having a taste of signature cocktails crafted just for the show.

Visitors can enjoy one-to-one cocktail tuition by the cities finest bartenders, live cocktail demonstrations on the main stage by the best bars and fantastic music by DJ’s, along with great food.

Where is the festival held?

The festival will be held in the magnificent surroundings of the “Sistine Chapel of Edinburgh”, The Mansfield Traquair. The venue is absolutely unique with grand neo-Romanesque architecture and exquisite murals adorning the interior walls. The grandeur and beauty of the space make it a vital piece of Edinburgh’s architectural and artistic heritage and provide a stunning setting for a special cocktail night out for guests.

Mansfield Traquair is located at 15 Mansfield Place, Edinburgh, EH3 6BB.

When?

The event is held on two nights, Thursday 29th October and Friday, 30th October from 6pm to 11pm.

FAQs:

Can under-18s attend the event? No we are afraid it is over-18s only

Is there a dress code? No there isn't a dress code, so get as dressed up or as dressed down as you like.
Are festival goers allowed to film or photograph the event? Yes, we actively encourage taking photos and creating vidoes of the event and sharing them on the Facebook page as well as Instagram through the hashtag
Will festival goers need to pay for drinks via a token system? Yes tokens will be £6 with one token getting you one drink.
Can festival goers bring cash, cards or both? Both cash paper money and plastic will be accepted as methods of payment.
Will there be first aiders on site? Yes, there will be first aiders at the event should they be needed.
Is there access for wheelchair users? Yes there is access for wheelchair users.
What is the food provision at the event? Beautiful bowls of food from the Heritage Portfolio, one vegetarian option and two meat options.

Cocktail  Name:  Chambord  Shrub
Ingredients:
• 25ml  Chambord
• 25ml  Vodka
• 25ml  Raspberry  &  Balsamic  Shrub
• 12.5ml  Fresh  Lemon  Juice
• 12.5ml  Rosemary  Syrup
• Top  Soda  Water
Method:
Shake  all  ingredients  hard  with  cubed  ice.  Strain  into  a  mini Chambord  bottle  and  top  with  soda.  Garnish  with  Rosemary
Sprig.

Cocktail  Name:  The  Dunnet  Fling

Ingredients:
• 40ml  Rock  Rose  Gin
• 10ml  Grand  Marnier
• 15ml  Blood  Orange  Juice
• 10ml  Lemon  Juice
• 5ml  Maraschino
Method:
Shake  all  ingredients  in  boston  shaker  over  cubed  ice.
Double  strain  into  chilled  coupette  glass.
Garnish  with  Dehydrated  Orange  Rim  and  sprig  of  Rosemary

Name: Morning Elixir
Ingredients:
• 40ml No. 3 Gin
• 40ml Homemade Autumn Spice Mix
• 40ml Clarified Milk
• Coffee Beans
• Whipped Double Cream
Method:
This is a drink that takes days to prepare the spice mix infused with coffee bean but then the ingredients are shake together, served over cubed ice in a takeaway coffee cup and topped with whipped double cream.
