Stewart Brewing, one of Scotland's most established independent beer brewers, will host a day-long festival next month to showcase a cross-section of food and drink from some of Scotland's most famous names.

Alongside a big selection of beers from the Loanhead-based brewer, the firm has also brought in chefs, retailers, live bands, and politicians to fill out its line-up of wide-ranging festivities at the Summer Beer & Food Fest on Saturday August 1.

Restaurateur, chef and Scotland on Sunday columnist Tom Kitchin will help run tutored, limited-capacity tasting sessions alongside ice cream vendors S. Luca's of Musselburgh and Edinburgh cheesemonger I.J. Mellis.

Kitchin, S. Luca's, and I.J. Mellis have also created their own craft beers to be unveiled during the festival. Top Out Brewery, Black Metal Brewery, Edinburgh Gin, MSP Patrick Harvie, and Scotland Food and Drink chief executive James Withers are also listed as collaborators brewing their own beers with Stewart Brewing.

The party will take place on the premises of Stewart Brewing's Dryden Road HQ in Loanhead, and will be an outdoor affair since organisers will set up a beer garden, a marquee and local street food within the grounds of the festival.

Tickets cost £10 (not including the booking fee), and can be bought here. One ticket grants entry and two free glasses of beer.
