Burns’ Birthday - Mauchline

Burns’ Birthday in Mauchline is a new, cultural event with the opportunity to see Mauchline come to life with characters from the past including Racer Jess, Jean Armour and Reverend William Auld.

Free Saturday and Sunday events will host family-orientated activities such as storytelling, music, craft making and traditional food while a ticketed Saturday evening event in Mauchline Parish Church Hall will feature Burnsong performers and music.

Big Burns Stramash, Inverness

El Perro Negro and Ka Pao team up for kitchen takeover in Glasgow

The Big Burns Stramash at the Eden Court Theatre will be a full day of events on 23 January celebrating the work of Robert Burns and focusing on well-known poem Tam O’ Shanter.

Throughout the day Eden Court will host workshops for families, performances and screenings of the Stramashup! film. An outdoor procession led by the City of Inverness Youth Pipe Band will be rounded off with two evening ceilidhs; the Wee Burns Ceilidh in early afternoon, and the Big Burns Ceilidh later in the evening.

Burns Fest at the Storytelling Centre - Edinburgh

From 21 January – 6 February, the Scottish Storytelling Centre will pay homage to Robert Burns with eight events celebrating his work, life and legacy. The events include live storytelling, music, workshops, children’s events and, of course, a traditional Burns Supper with a storytelling twist, all in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town.

Craft Distillers Event - Edinburgh

An exciting opportunity to meet some of the finest craft distillers in the country and sample their products. Whilst the triumvirate of whisky, gin and vodka will be well represented at the event, there will also be liqueurs and even a rum to try created from distilleries up and down the length of the country.

Tickets cost £5pp and this will entitle the ticket holder to one drink from the bar (limited to the attending distillers’ products) and canapés throughout the evening, as well as the opportunity to sample any of the spirits on offer.

The distilleries attending will include: Edinburgh Gin; Strathleven Distillers; Strathearn Distillery; Fraiser Liqueur; Electric Spirit Gin; Dark Matter Distillers; Crossbill Gin.
