Niall Kennedy, who is launching the new drinks outlet, says the shop is set to open at 623 Polloshaws Road this autumn.

Kennedy explained there has been "great interest" from the local community on social media for the Wee Beer Shop, which will stock takeaway beers from around the world, and will have an emphasis on smaller Scottish breweries "where possible".

As well as cans and bottles, they will be offering draft beer takeaway from a rotating line of beers and possibly a small range of wines and spirits.

The beer enthusiast stated that they will be running a couple of special events in the run up to the opening in October, with details to be posted on the new shop's social media accounts.

The first of which, according to Kennedy, will bring "a small but perfectly formed section of craft beer and gin to the Southside for two nights".

Kennedy stated that he is delighted to be able to open the beer shop in Strahtbungo, he said: "It's been my go-to for nights out in the last couple of years and I hope Wee Beer Shop can take its place within the great range of food and drink establishments.

"I really want the shop to provide a service to both confirmed beer lovers and also those who would like an introduction to the ever changing craft beer scene."
