A total of nine The Trading House and The Botanist locations across the UK will be participating with its flagship Glasgow bar and restaurant acting as the official site where adjudicators will attend to judge the attempt.

The event on 11 February will be sponsored by Tanqueray 10, Whitley Neill, Caorunn Gin and Fever Tree; 6pm will see over 100 people in each site sample three gins from each sponsor from their gin flight.

Following the tasting each site is throwing a huge gin party to celebrate the attempt, to which they are giving away a limited number of free tickets. The lucky winners will enjoy gin cocktails, live music and gin tastings.

Chris Hill, NWTC Managing Director said: “We’ve already broken Guinness World Records title for ale tastings and for the largest collection of rums commercially available, so with the recent addition of our ‘perfect serve’ gins to our menus we only felt it right to follow this up with a gin-themed world record attempt.

"We’re all incredibly excited at the opportunity to run this across 9 of our sites simultaneously and are thrilled customers can be a part of it with us.”

The attempt comes after the recent introduction of a gin list on The Trading House menus, a hand-crafted compilation of some of the best gins from around the world.

Gin lovers can enjoy a variety of botanical flavours in the various different gins, as each is paired with garnishes that represent the perfect serve.
