Already popular in London, Manchester and Liverpool, the tours will run on Wednesday evenings, from 6:15pm until around 11pm throughout June and July, with each tour costing £50pp (including five cocktails and samples).

Guided by an expert Gin Guardian, with transport from a chauffeur driven coach, the trip will take participants to various venues, including Summerhall Distillery, where Pickering’s Gin is crafted, and Hoot the Redeemer bar to sample Rock Rose Gin.

At each bar you will "enjoy samples of specially selected premium gins" and indulge in "well crafted gin cocktails", all whilst learning about the history and production methods behind Scotland's fastest growing spirit category.

Leon Dalloway, who created Gin Journey and is excited to be bringing the concept to Edinburgh, said: "I'm an ex bartender so fell in love with cocktails and spirits while I was mixing drinks.

"I wanted to share my love of gin, good drinks and throwing fun events so launched the Gin Journey. Scotland has a great gin heritage and some amazing flavour profiles. Edinburgh has some of the world's best bars and some stunning distilleries so it was a perfect fit."

Leon adds that he hopes to be able to expand the tour saying: "We will be looking to continue the Gin Journey EDI with the possibility of launching Saturday afternoons in the future. We want it to appeal to the locals to begin with and show them a side of Edinburgh they haven't seen before."

The bars and gins featured in the tour:

18:30- Bramble - w/ Caorunn
19:30- Whistle Stop Barber Shop w/ Daffy’s Gin
20:30- Pickerings w/ G&T Fever-Tree tonic
21:30- The Last Word - Darnley’s Spiced
22:30- Hoot the Redeemer - w/ Rock Rose
