What is Glasgow's Whisky Festival? 

It's Glasgow's biggest whisky festival showcasing whiskies from all over Scotland and the rest of the world. With around 40 whisky stands plus other exhibitors, and featuring some of the world's best rums, gins and liqueurs you are sure to have an amazing day out.

When is it?

The festival runs on Saturday the 14th November from 1pm to through to 5pm.

Where is it held? 

This year the event will bring Scotland's national drink to the national stadium with the festival set to be held at Hampden Park.

Big Names

Ardbeg reveal Spectacular Feis Ile whisky and Ardbeg Day theme for 2024

Some of the biggest names in the industry will be there including established brands like Glenfiddich, Whyte & Mackay, Macallan and Gordon and MacPhail offering a chance to sample some of their best and newest expressions. While some of the most exciting up and coming distilleries like BenRiach, Glendronach and Benromach will also be in attendance.

You'll also have the chance to talk to the producers and ambassadors of the some of the biggest brands in whisky, learning how they make their whisky, where they take their inspiration from and why their products are worth trying.

The new guys 

Some of the newest distilleries in Scotland will also have stalls showcasing their wares including the Glasgow Distilling Company, Eden Mill and Kingsbarns - who will be showing off their new make spirit. There is also a possibility that Adelphi might have their Ardnamurchan new make too.

New expressions

The ever popular Glendronach will be in attendance and will be offering on of the first opportunities to take a look at their new peated expression, something that we know a lot of people are looking forward to trying.

SWMS will be returing with their ever popular stand, highlighting their latest winter releases.

How do I get there?

By Rail

Douglas Laing launches Strathearn - their inaugural single malt whisky 

The stadium is a five minute walk from Mount Florida Station and King’s Park Station. Trains to both stations run from Glasgow central. Please call National Rail enquiries on 08457 484 950 for further information.

By Bus

First Glasgow operate the following bus services from the city centre on a regular basis:

5 , 6, 7, 7A, 34, 90.

Can I take pics? Yes, the organisers encourage it and you can even post them on the Facebook page, the instagram account or on Twitter under the hashtag #gwf2015

Will there be a first aid station? Yes, should they be needed, there will be adequate numbers of first aiders on hand.

Can I pay on the door? No, I'm afraid it's sold out so if you don't already have a ticket you won't get in.

Can I buy bottles of whisky? Yes, the Good Spirits will be in attendance and will be offering you the chance to buy most of the whiskies you'll be able to sample on the day.

Will there be food? Yes, Hampden's own cafe will providing some much needed sustenance throughout the day.
