What do you really know about Santa Claus? Sure he’s got a white beard, wears a red suit and likes giving toys but what really makes Santa tick?

We’ve all been so busy telling Santa what we want for Christmas that we never actually ask him any questions about himself. We spoke exclusively with Santa Claus straight from his Office in the Arctic Circle of Rovaniemi, Finland, to talk mince pies, time off and presents for Mrs Claus.

How old are you?
I can't remember exactly but there is one document that has it stated. On my reindeer driving license it states my age: long time ago.

What's your favourite snack?
I love to taste local delicacies but I couldn't imagine Christmas without mince pies.

How do you manage to go round everyone's house in one night?
Easy. You just need to know how to be in a million different places at the same time. After practising for many centuries I think I manage it pretty well.

Can you really see people when they're sleeping?
I live in a world of fairytales where everything is possible. You are warmly welcome to visit.

Do you enjoy your job?
What do you mean? What I do is not a job, it’s a way of life. And yes, I do like it a lot.

What's the worst thing about being Santa?

Well, I don't know. I’ll let you know if I experience anything bad.

Who is your favourite reindeer?
I like all of my reindeer but the dearest of them is obviously my friend with big antlers and a red nose. Reindeer union granted the honorary title; Reindeer of the year 2016, to Fusspot this year. You’ll see him in UK at Christmas.

Do the elves get time off?
This time of the year means the elves are really busy. Time is magic for them.

What do you give Mrs Claus for Christmas?
That’s quite a challenging task. I’ve almost decided but I can't tell!
